AER’s FloodScan service provides daily maps of large-scale, inland flooding based on satellite remote sensing technology. The FloodScan interactive map viewer https://floodscan.aer.com lets users browse the latest maps and over 20 years of data covering the Americas, Africa, and most of Asia. FloodScan registration is free. Custom map orders can be placed through the map viewer for purchase through Shopify.
A FloodScan Annual Subscription provides direct access to FloodScan’s Web Coverage Service (WCS). Subscribers get immediate access to the latest data for all FloodScan regions in GeoTiff or NetCDF format. WCS products include all those available in the FloodScan interactive map:
- SFED: Standard flood extent depiction at ~90-meter scale
- MFED: Maximum flood extent depiction at ~90-meter scale
- SFED_AREA: Fractional flooding aggregated over ~10x10-km scale
